Make sure your MSP fees are correct

Medical Services plan (MSP) is something that all Canadians get billed for on a monthly basis. However, many do not know that if you make less than a certain amount you do not need to pay for this medical plan, and are eligible for free health care.

MSP does have a habit of charging everybody, even those who are eligible for free health care. So it is crucial that one be informed about the numbers and how much you should pay. You may be asking, how much yearly income should I have to be eligible for this?

If you make less than $22,000 per year, you DO NOT need to pay for this. In this case, you should apply for MSP Premium Assistance. Moreover, if you make from $22,001 – $30,000+ you do need to pay for this medical plan. However, you may be eligible for deductions.
